Thomy Phan is a Junior Professor and head of the Chair of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at the University of Bayreuth. His research focuses on multi-agent systems, developing scalable algorithms that combine learning and search for complex optimisation problems. His work has applications in large-scale distributed systems such as warehouse automation, smart manufacturing, and traffic management. Prior to joining Bayreuth, he was a postdoctoral researcher at UC Irvine and the University of Southern California, and completed his PhD in Computer Science at LMU Munich.

How to get to the Open Innovation Lab:
The Open Innovation Lab is located in Zapf-Haus 1 (Ground Floor), Nürnberger Straße 38, 95448 Bayreuth. For those leaving from the main campus, the following map shows the shorter walking route to the building.
We recommend entering through the back door of the building (see photo below), which is always unlocked while the front entrance can only be opened from the inside after 4 PM.
